1. Don’t rely solely on search engine traffic to beat the Panda algorithm. Use other methods such as paid traffic from Pay-Per-Click campaigns spread across the internet. This is really useful in that conversions are likely to be high, as they are looking for something in particular.
- 2. Build your social networks up around your brand, and any other communities related to your sites content. This will increase your page ranking in Google and help you tiger tail kick the Google Panda update.
- 3. Make sure your site is easily navigated with no error pages and clear links from one page to another for the easiest browsing experience for your visitors. After all the best websites are those that the visitor enjoys being on and will stay on, this will keep Google happy too.
- 4. Keep content completely original and fresh. To quote a popular phrase ‘content is king’ would be an understatement. Always keep your site informative and interesting. New content updated added to your website on a regular basis will kung fu chop Google’s Panda algorithm.
- 5. Do not copy content from other websites or pages on your current website. Google looks very closely at this and the new algorithm will punish you severely if it picks up on this duplication.
- 6. Keep advertising on your site to a bare minimum. Too many adverts are also given poor ranks in Google as it sees your site as a spam content website.
- 7. Bounce rates on websites are ever more important. If your bounce rate is high for most pages Google will look at this as a negative factor and rate your site as worthless. This links back to good content, if you have a reason for visitors to stay on your site it will pay dividends in the long term.
- 8. Page title and page content not matching what people are searching for. This is rarer, but make sure your SEO is working on the right keywords.
- 9. Over optimising pages within your website for certain keywords will get flagged up by the Panda. Use tools to find out what % you need to optimise your website for.
- 10. Keyword stuffing is another example of over SEOing your site. Google sees you have used too many keywords to try and reach more people in the search engines and will decrease your page rank accordingly.
